Both Smith and Anderson have worked in the high-performance/racing industry for many years, with several decades of experience between them.

Smith also owns RotorSports Racing, the nation's premiere engine builder and repair shop for Mazda rotary engines and performance RX-7s. Through RotorSports, Smith has an extensive history of working on high-performance and racing vehicles, including his own race cars. With more than 19 years of competitive driving in SCCA club racing, autocrosses, hillclimbs, and other events, with numerous wins throughout his career, Smith has evolved into a reputable and experienced racer and mechanic.

Smith and Anderson believe in the idea of bringing real value to the industry, using their skills and knowledge to produce high-performance, reliable WRXs. Every ASR-prepared WRX leaving the shop benefits from his more than two decades experience working on high-performance vehicles. The ASR shop remains small and specialized, with emphasis on quality over quantity.
